The UNICO development, more widely recognized as the Hard Rock Hotel Montego Bay, represents one of the most ambitious hospitality projects currently under construction along Jamaica’s North Coast Highway. Marcore Construction Group, contracted under O2H Contracting Limited, played a pivotal role in delivering essential infrastructure works during the preliminary phases of this landmark project.
Our scope of responsibility centered on the construction of a sub-surface wastewater treatment plant, one of three systems designed to serve the expansive hotel facility. To manage the complexity of this work, Marcore directed a team that included multiple trade foremen, two site supervisors, and a project engineer, all working in close collaboration with the developers’ own engineers and project managers.
Despite the challenges of weather disruptions, logistical hurdles, client-side delays, and even a temporary government-ordered site shutdown for assessment, Marcore’s oversight ensured seamless progress. In fact, the first phase of construction under our management was delivered three weeks ahead of the client engineers’ projected timeline—a milestone that underscored both disciplined coordination and our commitment to exceeding expectations.
